Mabel, the wife of comedian, AY Makun, has raised alarm over threat to her life.

In a post shared on her Instagram page, the mum of two said she has been mentally abused for way too long and has had enough. She also stated that if anything happens to her, one person should be held responsible.
She however did not state who she was referring to.

Spotify has named Nigerian rapper, musician, and record executive, Olamide Adedeji, popularly known as “Olamide,” as the most influential street pop artiste of his time.

Spotify’s Editor for West Africa, Benewaah Boateng, announced the recognition in a statement made on Thursday in Lagos.

Boateng emphasized the impressive rise of the subgenre “Street Pop” within Nigeria’s music landscape, indicating its progressive ascension into popular music.

She lauded Olamide’s extraordinary contribution to this rise, emphasizing his critical role in bringing Street Pop to global recognition as a unique music genre.

“Olamide is the most influential street pop artist of his generation, and he has been consistently lauded for his role in bringing street pop to mainstream recognition as a distinct music genre.

“Since the debut of his hit single, ‘Eni Duro,’ he has been a constant cultural force, popularising dance styles like ‘Shakiti Bobo’ and street lingos such as ‘Baddo Sneh’ and ‘Pepper Dem.’

“Through his record label YBNL, Olamide has also played a pivotal role in discovering and nurturing Nigeria’s brightest street pop talents.

“The influence of Street Pop on the Nigerian music landscape in 2023 is clearly and undeniably significant.

“This is just the beginning of Street Pop going mainstream and we cannot wait to see how it continues to grow,” she said.

Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo in a countersuit has slammed popular singer, Azeez Fashola aka Naira Marley with a suit demanding N1bn.

It should be recalled that the counsel of the Marlian Record label boss recently sent out a pre-action notice demanding that the actress pay N500 million in damages for allegedly linking the singer to the death of one of his former signee, Mohbad.

The death of the young singer has since sparked controversies, investigation and outrage since his demise on 12 September 2023.

However, responding to the lawsuit, Ojo claimed Marley’s lawyer brought the claims to the media and public “but failed to serve them to me.”

She alleged that Marley’s failure to deliver the letter to her was a “calculated attempt to disparage my well-earned reputation.”
Ojo is also demanding from the Am I A Yahoo boy singer a public apology. Taking to her verified Instagram account, she posted the letter issued by her lawyers.

It read, “Foremost, our client would ordinarily have dismissed your letter of 12th day of December 2023 for being out rightly inconsequential and of no relevance, premised on your failure to transmit the correspondence either by hand or post till this very day.

“Our client views your conduct (failure to first serve a copy of the letter of 12 December 2023 before same was released) as a calculated attempt to disparage her well-earned reputation, tarnish her jealously padded vocal capital and advocacy, and ultimately cause her psychological trauma not limited to incitement of the members of the public to (cyber) bully and lose the goodwill of her clients thereby resulted in loss of patronage of her craft and income from sales of goods and services.

The statement further read, “Our client shall be claiming the sum of One Billion Naira (N1, 000, 000, 000.00) deliberately misleading the public a letter was served on her with the intent of causing grievous harm which has indeed led to the grievous loss of income and lower her standards amongst right-thinking individuals, Nigerian and International associates, corporate institutions and reputable companies our client works for as ambassadors and/or Counter-Claim against your client for One Billion Naira (N1, 000, 000, 000.00) for first bringing to the media and/or public, a letter addressed to her but deliberately not delivered/served.”
